San Francisco Comedy Competition Week 1: Crow's Nest

The first round of the San Francisco Comedy Competition ends at the Crow’s Nest in Santa Cruz and what a place to end a show run. The Crows Nest has earned a reputation of being a very notorious venue as a final night at the competition. Some comics are giving it their all for a chance to break into the Semifinals. Some kick back and enjoy themselves. Some of them have snap sets where all the stress of the week comes out. It’s a fantastic show and not one to miss. This is also one of the only opportunities to see all 30 comics in one venue.

We have 15 comics on the bill. Five advance to the Finals. The rest go home.

Tickets are available at the Crows Nest.

During two big nights, Marin Showcase comedy fans can see the entire field of talented contestants recruited from around the country. Each show consists of 15 hilarious acts each doing a six-minute set. The two shows are completely different from each other. This is an excellent chance to see all 30 comedians in one venue.

History suggests one or two of this year’s performers may go on to stardom, joining the ranks of past alumni Dana Carvey, Ellen DeGeneres, Marc Maron, Patton Oswalt, Paula Poundstone and Robin Williams, as well as more recent achievers like Jimmy O. Yang of “Silicon Valley” and Rory Scovel who appeared recently with Amy Schumer as her boyfriend in the movie, “I Feel Pretty.”

Callbacks Comedy Show

Every Tuesday, the Seattle Comedy Underground does a Call Back show which features the best stand-up comics from our Open Mic show.

We take the strongest comics and give them more stage time to better express jokes, ideas and develop their acts.

We encourage local up-and-comers to work harder on their game as well as professional Pacific Northwest comedians to drop in, work on new material and positively interface with the younger generation, which helps make the vibrant Seattle comedy scene even stronger.

JAMCO Comedy Series Presents Tyler Boeh

How do you go from being a nationally recognized vocal percussionist in a college acapella group to a nationally touring headlining comedian? Ask Tyler Boeh, a comedian whose comedy has been described as high-energy, intelligent, physical, and silly. His quick wit and award winning beat-boxing talent bring audiences to hysterical heights. Tyler started his stand-up career in his hometown of Portland, OR, but after placing in the finals of comedy competitions in Seattle, San Francisco, Boston and at the World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas, Tyler made his way to Los Angeles. Within a year of his move to Hollywood he had established himself at the top comedy clubs, completed work on two television pilots, and Tylers debut comedy album, Carpool Companion was chosen as LaughSpin Magazines album of the year when it was released in 2012. In 2015 Tyler held his own with Craig Fergusson on his new show, Celebrity Name Game, was featured in numerous BuzzFeed videos, and appeared in 3 episodes of Laughs on Fox. 2016 culminated with a college tour that took him to nearly 40 campuses across the country and a return visit to showcase for the third season of Laughs on Fox. In 2018 Tyler released his second album, Full Circle which was selected in January as the SiruisXM 98 artist of the month and debuted at #2 on the Billboard Comedy Charts. In 2018 Tyler also released his Dry Bar Comedy special Wait for it which has already received over 5 million views online. Tyler continues to perform across the country at comedy clubs, colleges, and theaters bringing his incredible brand of humor wherever he goes. You can hear his comedy on Sirius XM Radio, Pandora, iTunes, and many other platforms online, but dont miss the chance to see Tyler perform live!
